A modern Fairy Tale - Part I

Once upon a time there was a young girl that loved to sing. She sang all the time. She could see all the famous people that had big concerts and were big stars in - well, not quite a crystal ball - something more like a plasma screen with cable TV.
But all these famous stars were in a far, far away place know as the place of opportunities - America. She didn't have the money to go there, and in the little village where she lived she could never fulfil her dream of being the greatest pop star in the world.
There were two little fairies that were always with her: Fairy Courage and Fairy Cowardice. On one hand, Fairy Courage was always telling this young girl Carolina that she could never stop trying to be a singer; that everybody could see their dreams come true when they wished it really hard and had an extremely pure heart. On the other hand, Fairy Cowardice was always saying to Carolina that se wasn't good enough and that she was from a very small and distant place, and that no one in the world woud ever notice her.
The little girl always gave most importance to Fairy Cowardice, it was easier to believe in what she said. She wished she could believe in Fairy Courage but everything she said seemed to be small talk just to make her feel better and very unlikely to happen.
